It's hard to announce that Oleander has slipped from my number one band slot to my number two, it's spot has been replaced by the band Hurt. It is so hard to classify this band's genre but I think it would be art rock. Every time I listen to their album I become more and more consumed by their music and lyrics to the point where I can't get enough. Their singles such as Rapture, Falls Apart, and Ten Ton Brick don't do the band any justice. Unfortunately, they were dropped from their label last May but they have begun recording another album recently.(much like Oleander =))

If you haven't heard from these guys yet, look up some of their songs on youbube. The lead singer was training to be a classical violinist before he joined the band, and sometimes brings it out for some songs.

Recommended songs:
Danse Russe ( live has violin)
House Carpenter - Summers Lost
Thanks For Listening
Aftermath
Rapture

I've seen them live. Actually, I believe that was when they opened for Alice In Chains, a couple years ago. My best friend and I were pretty impressed by them, considering how many opening bands we've seen that we've absolutely despised. Smile
